 Simple Present Tense

   .  1.  যে সব বাক্য চিরন্তন সত্য(Universal True), সিদ্ধান্ত (Principle), স্থায়ী কাজ  (Permanent activity) বা স্বভাব  (Nature) , অভ্যাস (habitual action) বোঝায় সেই সব বাক্য simple present tense হয়।

1.       The sun rises in the east.

2.      Water freezes at 4^oc.

3.      Fish live in water.

4.      Rina takes the bus to school everyday.

5.      Honey is sweet.

6.       Birds lay eggs in the nest.

7.      She loves all her friends very much.

8.      The cow gives us milk.

9.      I love children.

10. The rose smells sweet.

2. কোন কাজ বার বার (repeated action) হলে  simple present tense এ লিখতে হয়।

    1.  I play cricket every Sunday.

    2. He reads till in the night.

    3. It always rains in May.

    4. He does not talk much.

    5. I go to Digha every year.

3.  ভবিষ্যতে কিছু কাজ নির্দিষ্ট সময়ে ঘটবে বোঝালে present tense ব্যবহার হয়।

       1. Our examinations begin tomorrow.

       2. His train arrives at 9.16.

       3. I start my new job tomorrow.

      4. The match starts at 7.30 p.m.

      5. Deepawali falls next month.

4 ঐতিহাসিক সত্যি(Historical true) বা জীবন বর্ণনা (Vivid Description) করতে  Simple present tense ব্যবহার হয়।

1.      Shivaji escapes from the Agra fort.

      2.  India gets independence on the15th August 1947.

5. commentrary বা broadcasting ইত্যাদির ক্ষেত্রেও Simple present tense ব্যবহার হয় যখন কাজটা sentence টা শেষ করার আগেই হয়ে যায়। (quicker action or event finished before the sentences that describe them)

    1. The Prime minister hoists the national flag.

    2. Sachin Strikes a sixer.

   3. Rafi passes to Rafique.

6. একটি ব্যাকে দুটি ভবিষ্যতের কাজ থাকলে, একটি clause future tense এ হয় এবং আর একটি Simple present tense হয়।

   1. I shall wait till you finish your lunch.

   2. If you work hard, you will pass the examination.

   3. If it rains we shall get wait.

   4. Please wait until I come.

   5. The train will leave before you reach.

7.  Temporary situations or actions এর ক্ষেত্রে  Present Continuous Tense  বসে। কিন্তু এমন কিছু verb  আছে যেগুলির  progressive form (verb + ing) হয় না। এ ক্ষেত্রে Simple present tense ব্যবহার হয়।

যেমনঃ

 I believe you. (not I am believing you)

I like this wine. (not I am liking this wine)

These grapes taste sour. (not These grapes are tasting sour.)

I think you are wrong. (not I am thinking you are wrong. )
