Noun
Countable nouns are the names of
separate objects, people, idea etc, which can be counted.
(যে সব
noun গোনা যায় তাদের countable noun বলে)
Countable
nouns are two types 1. Singular (একটা) and 2. Plural (একের বেশী)
We
normally use a/an article or one with singular countable nouns.
Singular
countable noun –এর আগে a/an
article or one ব্যবহার করা হয়।
We use numbers (two three etc)
and some determiners like some, many, a few , any with Plural countable noun when
we are thinking about limited but indefinite numbers or quantities.
Plural
countable noun এর আগে সংখ্যা ব্যবহার করা হয়। Plural countable noun এর
আগে some/any/a
few/many বসলে কিছু অনির্দিষ্ট সংখ্যা বোঝায়।

I
like books. (no idea of numbers)
2.
I
like some great books. (a limited numbers)
3.
We
have planted some roses in the garden. (a limited number does not say how many)
4.
I
like roses. ((no idea of numbers)
5.
We
sang some songs.
6.
Did
you buy any mangoes?
7.
I
have a few things to do.
8.
I saw her just a few days ago.
9.
There
are not many cars today.
10.
He does not have many friends.
Some/many is used especially in affirmative sentences.
Any is more common in question and negatives.

2.
I
am not sure if he has some brothers and sisters.
(X)
I am not sure if he has any brothers and sisters.
We cannot use
singular countable nouns alone.
Example:
1.
I
want a banana.
2.
I
saw a rabbit in the park.
We can use plural
countable nouns alone.
1.
I
like banana.
2.
Accidents
can be prevented.
